Be Rested.
The exams for the last two years were open book/open notes, this years will be open books/open notes (your own of course). You may bring copies of the lecture notes, and your hand written lecture notes. However, remember that it is against the rules of the course to possess the solution key from text books.
Bring a calculator, you may need to do some arithmetic. Do NOT plan on sharing a calculator during the exam.
Doing a symbolic solution before plugging numbers in is a good practice, be sure to define notation.
If you are not sure of how to interpret some aspect of a question ask. Answers of common interest will be announced to the entire class.
Midterms from the Fall 2000 course.
Some examples you can try, they are from 1999 (CSI 416/516) (from a different book and the class structure was different)
