What is Illustrating Nature?



In the strict sense it is depicting what we see in the world of flora and fauna in an artistic format, be it pen and ink, graphite or watercolor. It is showing from an artistic standpoint what exists in the world. Seeing a subject as art brings it more into focus, makes it more real and tangible, almost within reach.



Who are we?



We are the University of Washington's Scientific Illustration Certification class of 2005 - 2006. We are a diverse group of illustrators and fine artists committed to the artistic, yet accurate portrayal of plants, animals and their ecosystems.
