Description Guidelines

Are you thinking of asking for a commission? Good! :) But first I'd like you to look over these guidelines for submission. It will make it much easier for me, as well as getting you what you'd like.

Acceptance: You must send an email to my address for me to acknowledge your genuine interest in actually receiving a Commission. Vague requests in random places I will probably end up overlooking.

Punctuality: If you are currently on the top of the commission list and you still haven't sent me your stipulations, I will have to bump you down the list, in favor of the next person who has sent one, until I receive it.

If commissions are closed: If commissions are closed, and you send me one in email, it still does not count. You won't be added to the list in any order until you send one when they're open. If I *did* accept it, that wouldn't be fare to the people who actually read this page, now would it? Please wait until they are open to send me commissions.

Rating: I will not be obligated to accept requests that are too racy. Skimpy clothing I don't mind, but characters in sexually suggestive positions and/or situations I probably won't want to do, sorry.

No nos: Once you have received a pic, you may *not* remove my signature line, or make any outstanding changes without my permission. I really, really shy away from anime. If you ask me to draw Pokemon I *will* crush your immortal soul with my Mr. Smelly sock puppet.

Details: The more detailed the description the better (**within reason). I am admittedly uncreative on little details, but you can help me get better by giving me practice. ;) If you can't think of little details I'll try to do my best on creating those myself.

**Within Reason**: However, if you send me an in depth description of a pic with 20 of your characters, I will also be forced to kill you. If I have to take a week to finish your pic, which causes me to get very *very* behind in the others, I have the right to refuse it.

Below is a list of specifications that may help you flesh out your description so you get exactly what you want. Also note that I can't be responsible for specifications you leave out...Dreamie's not a mind reader ;)

Please note this is not meant to be a fully complete list of all the descriptions I may need, but a list of the usual ones that come up. Additional structured detail is usually very helpful. ^_^

Subject

Examples

Notes

Species (Race):

Gargoyle
Dragon
Elf (Fay)
Human

If your character doesn't fall under one of these examples, be sure to describe their species characteristics.

Gender:

Male
Female
Undefined

Uh... I don't think this needs notes.

Skin/Fur Color(s):

Blue
Green
White
Flesh/ Brown

These of course are the most common, but if you have your own example of your character's coloring, that would help a great deal. (For gargoyles, don't forget the additional inner and outer wing color)

Markings:

Tattoos
Stripes
Birthmarks
Scars

If for example your character has a tattoo, a really good description or an example picture would help a lot.

Hair:

Brown, long
Spiky, black
Blue, wavy, long
Shoulder length, gray

Hair Style and accessories are helpful, but not necessary.

Age and Build:

20, Slim
32, Athletic
Elderly, Jack la Lane
Pleasurfully Plump

I tend to draw young, athletic bodies on females and mature, fairly large muscled bodies on males. I won't draw big ta-tas unless it's essential to the character's description (ie, Christine Morgan's "Godiva")

For Gargoyles:
Wings type, Brow Ridges, etc.

Wing Type: 2 inner wing struts, one wing claw(Goliath)

Brow ridges: Two long horns(Brooklyn)

w/without elbow/knee spurs

Every gargoyles is unique in it's own way. Wing structure can very greatly from one to another. If you leave one of these out or aren't sure, I'll simply use what I think is best ;)

Clothing:

Loin cloth, green
Gold and red Bikini
Trench coat, black

Yes, most of the time character's *do* require clothing, or at least something covering their netherregions. If you're not sure, again I'll come up with something. If you have a special case, please let me know.

General Mood:

Joyous
Forlorn
Standoffish
Depressed

I tend to draw happy shiny people. If you don't want a smiling character please specify the character's general and/or current mood.

Setting/ Pose:

Castle Parapet, Battle Ready

Forest, strolling

Flower garden, Lounging in the daisies

Standing and looking at you

As you can see from most of my pics, I'm not very good at thinking up backgrounds. If you have a good idea where your character is in the picture you want, be sure to let me know. When I get just a character description I usually do a "Character Portrait" sort of pic, where there's no background and just the character in the middle in various poses.
