This special section will focus on applications and techniques geared
towards aiding in the exploration and analysis of data. With the
volume and complexity of data being collected by systems today it is
imperative that new techniques be developed to aid users in
understanding this data. Visualiation is particularly well suited for
this problem. We are seeking papers covering all aspects of the
analysis process, including papers discussing visualization, analysis,
perception, and interaction issues. Example topics include but are not
limited to:
- Data Exploration
Data visualization, data interaction, data analysis
classical and novel approaches
- Information and Scientific Visualization
- Volume and Flow Visualization
- Internet and Web Based Technologies
- Analysis Techniques and Data Mining
- Virtual Environments and Data Visualization
- Perception and Data Visualization
human-factors and ergonomics issues
interaction and user interfaces
natural computation techniques
sonification
- Databases and Visualization
data models and sets in visualization
large databases, temporal databases
- Specific Visualization Techniques or Systems
animation in data visualization
high performance computing and visualization
parallel rendering
multimedia in visualization
- Virtual Environments and Data Visualization
interaction techniques
visual representation of sensor, radar, or optical data
modeling, simulation
- Tools for Visualization
automated tools, interactive tools, mathematical tools
- Standards and Requirements for Visualization
- Application Examples and Case Studies
medical applications
financial applications
Manuscripts that are commercial in nature will not be
considered. Manuscripts are reviewed and refereed. Those accepted for
publication are edited for conformance to the journal's style. We
encourage the use of color when required.
To submit a paper, send five hard copies of your manuscript and
photographs to Robert F. Erbacher at the address below. For electronic
submission send your paper in either postscript or pdf format to
Robert F. Erbacher as an e-mail attachment.
