Review Session 16:00, Friday, October 19, 2001 in the
Department's Conference Room
Mid Term Advice:
- Be Rested.
- Sorry, there was a cut and paste error,
- Bring a calculator (do not expect to share one),
you may need to do some arithmetic.
- A symbolic solution simplified using algebra is convincing
evidence that you know what you are doing.
- You can express fractions in a simplified form
(i.e. you can write 1/4 instead of 0.25).
- If you are not sure of how to interpret some aspect of a
question ask. Answers of common interest will be announced
to the entire class.
- Try the following example problems in addition to the sample
exams, be sure to try the Review Questions in each chapter:
- Recommended Exercises from Scott' Book
(I have not yet solved them):
- Chapter 1: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.7, 1.8, 1.11
- Chapter 2: 2.3, 2.4, 2.6, 2.8, 2.9, 2.22, 2.24
- Chapter 3: 3.2, 3.3, 3.6, 3.8, 3.11
- Chapter 7: 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 7.7, 7.8, 7.9
- Try the Fall 2001 semester's Mid Term Exam
(I used a different book (Pratt and Zeklowitz) in 2001,
so the exam will look a bit different than one based on
the Scott Book).
in pdf .
- Check out Fall 2001 Mid Term Exam's solution key
(Try the exam first!)
