“Matrix” is a 72-core server cluster for exclusive use of Dr. Hwang and his students. This cluster consists of one head node and eight compute nodes. Each node has two quad-core Intel Xeon 5300 processors and 16GB RAM.

PlanetLab is a global research network. Since the beginning of 2003, more than 1,000 researchers have used PlanetLab to develop new technologies for distributed storage, network mapping, peer-to-peer systems, distributed hash tables, and query processing. As of January 2010, PlanetLab consists of 1068 nodes at 494 sites.

Crossbow’s TelosB sensor motes can form multi-hop wireless sensor mesh networks. Each mote is powered by two AA batteries and includes an 8 MHz TI MSP430 microprocessor with 10KB RAM and 1MB external flash, an IEEE 802.15.4 radio with integrated antenna, and a suite of light, temperature and humidity sensors.
